As former president of Queens MCR, I'm delighted that Doctor Mohamed El Erian is standing for Chancellor. I watched him translate thoughtful initiatives into everyday benefits that reach every corner of college life and beyond.
When COVID closed our gates, Mohamed opened doors. Late night welfare calls, hardship funds and the now legendary £3 meals that kept us connected.
He combines genuine warmth with the analytical rigour of a world class economist, securing record scholarships, fundraising, energising our entrepreneurship hub and elevating our arts festivals while inviting mentors we could never have reached without him. Most of all, he inspires. By listening first and acting fast, he fosters communities where all students, fellows and alumni feel heard, supported and challenged to aim higher. Cambridge flourishes when experience meets empathy, and Mohamed embodies both.
I'm genuinely excited about the energy and vision he could bring to the whole university, and I invite you to explore his candidacy with the same enthusiasm.
