Mohamed El-Erian leads from the heart - that’s what I’ve learned during my time at Queens’. Since my first day, I’ve seen it. He cares about every member of the institutions he leads, and I’m sure this will be the same for the university.

Friends from other colleges envy Queens’ students when he attends our games and shows, supports our causes, or simply stops to chat with us. And he does all of that from the heart.

When I started the Egyptian Society, I never expected the amount of emotional support I’d receive - but he was there, genuinely present and encouraging.

He gives great advice, stands by those who need him, and has great connections and a clear vision - the magic formula that Cambridge needs in a chancellor. He understands the job, with its challenges and limitations, and knows exactly how to transform it within those bounds, nevertheless.

He’s transformed every institution he’s been part of, and I’m sure Cambridge will witness a new era under his chancellorship. I’m proud to endorse him - a Chancellor for a new era.
